Letter Invaders

While working with some of our typefaces, I did get curios about the shape of the ligature Œ. Rotating it 90 degrees it remembered me of the sprites (moving elements) of the first videogames like Space Invaders or Pac Man. I picked up a selection of the ligature from different typefaces to build up a “multicultureal” moveable letter army and a defending spaceship made out of the “Centauro” typeface. All build up in lead and printed in two colours on our manual Platten Press, it is a homage to the beginning of the digital age, made 100% analog.
